Dr Wright
completed his PhD in theoretical physics in 1985 at the University
of Newcastle Upon Tyne. After completing his PhD, he joined what
is now BAE SYSTEMS ATC Sowerby in Filton Bristol and now holds
the position Executive Scientist in the Advance Information Processing
Department. His responsibilities have included the development
of Bayesian statistical methods, including neural networks, within
the ATC and influencing the uptake of this technology within the
BAE SYSTEMS. Recently he was awarded a Royal Society Industrial
Fellow and now spends 6 months a year in the Mathematics Department
at The University of Bristol. His research interests include:
- decentralised
decision processes.
- the application
of Bayesian inference methods in situation assessment, computer
vision and health monitoring.
- distributed
robotic systems.
Dr Wright
has over 40 refereed journal and conference publications. He is
a Honorary Visiting Fellow at Bristol University, Visiting Senior
Research Fellow at UMIST and Visiting Researcher at Caltech.
