Daniel Wolpert trained as a medical doctor at Cambridge & Oxford, qualifying in 1989. He then joined John Stein's group in the Physiology Department of Oxford University where he received his PhD in 1992. He then spent three years as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at MIT where he worked in Mike Jordan's group. He joined the Sobell Department of Motor Neuroscience & Movement Disorders, Institute of Neurology in 1995, and is currently Reader in Motor Neuroscience and co-director of the Institute of Movement Neuroscience, UCL. His interests are computational and experimental approaches to human sensorimotor control.
